Welcome to Smooth Sailing on Lake Champlain in picturesque Plattsburgh in the Adirondack Mountains, New York State. This custom-built home comfortably has amazing lakeside views and sleeps up to eight guests. It’s perfect for family getaways or group gatherings. We also welcome up to two dogs.
Enjoy water-skiing in the summer, head into town for some shopping or something to eat or just spend your days relaxing by the water.
Accommodation
As you step into this meticulously designed house, you’ll instantly feel a sense of relaxation and tranquility. Built in 2004 and immaculately maintained, the property exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere throughout.
The main floor features two bedrooms with comfortable queen beds, making it easily accessible for those with mobility challenges. A full bathroom is conveniently located on the same level, ensuring utmost convenience for all guests.
The living spaces are thoughtfully furnished and offer breathtaking views of the lake. Curl up by the wood-burning fireplace and listen to your favourite tunes on the Sonos 1 sound system. Every moment here promises to be a pleasure.
Entertainment options abound, with a 55″ HDTV equipped with standard cable, satellite, and Netflix, as well as a ping pong table and exercise equipment. Stay connected with the provided Wi-Fi and make use of the dedicated workspace if you’re on a workcation. You can tick tasks off your to-do list before joining the family for some fun on the water.
There are a further two bedrooms (one with a king-sized bed and one twin room with two singles) and a bathroom upstairs. All beds are made up with Egyptian cotton bed linens – your comfort is our top priority.
Outside
Step outside onto your private patio where you can prepare your meals on the BBQ and enjoy some alfresco dining surrounded by natural beauty. You could spend the evenings unwinding in the private hot tub looking out across the lake. Then there’s the lush back garden, a serene space for relaxation, although please note that it is not fenced. Convenient free parking is available for two vehicles.
When you arrive at Smooth Sailing in Lake Champlain, hit pause for a while and just take in the views. There is a path that leads to the lake, where lots of guests enjoy water-skiing during the summer months. When you want to explore you could venture into town for some antique shopping or a bit to eat in the local restaurant. Plus it’s only 45 minutes to Lake Placid which is fantastic for snow-skiiing in the winter.
Long-term stays are allowed and cleaning is available during your stay if required.

Arrival & departure
Check-in is after 16:00. There is a lockbox for self check-in via your own private entrance and further instructions will be sent to you after you book. There is a free residential garage on the premises with parking for two vehicles.
We request that guests check-out before 10:00.
Dogs welcome
A maximum of two well-behaved dogs are welcome at Smooth Sailing on Lake Champlain. There is an additional charge of $150 per dog for the length of your stay. Please note that the garden is NOT fully enclosed.
