Our "slice of heaven" is our second home, which we rent out on a few occasions per year. The ultimate privacy of 1200 ft of shoreline and 156ac surrounding managed forest makes our cottage property truly unique. It's the ideal year round escape for couples, families, and friends. Enjoy swimming, fishing, water-sports, biking, hiking, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and ice fishing just outside your door! Private dock, sauna, fire pit, BBQ, game room, tree house, basket ball court, WIFI and smart TV. Skiing, golf, tennis, and pickle ball are nearby. We maintain 8 km of private trails throughout and have guided hikes every fall for many years as part of The Hike Haliburton Festival. You too are welcome to enjoy the trails for hiking, biking or snowshoeing. NO motorized vehicles please. It's pure nature with amazing views to enjoy along the way, and if you're lucky, you might come across some wildlife.
The cottage is a back split design, with a few steps leading down to the basement and up to the bedrooms from the main living area. The living room and two of the bedrooms feature ceiling fans. We got baseboard heating and even in cold winters the airtight wood stove comfortably heats the entire cottage. Some firewood is provided. Both bathrooms come with radiant floor heating.
The beds on the main floor have down duvets, and the one in the basement got synthetic filling. We're asking you to BRING YOUR OWN bed sheets (one fitted, one flat per bed), bath and hand towels, bathroom mats, and outdoor towels. There will be tea towels and cleaning supplies, as well as toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, soaps and laundry detergent. We are on a septic system that requires and operates flawlessly using ONLY biodegradable, septic friendly products. More about the septic system requirements and other details you'll find in my Welcome Book, which I provide before your stay. Both bathrooms are equipped with magnifying mirrors and hair dryers.
Our water comes sediment and UV filtered from the lake. The lake being the region's highest and spring fed has excellent water quality. The drinking water runs through an additional Reverse Osmosis 5 filter system. If you prefer bottled water though, please bring in sufficient quantities.
We are on the grid and have solar power back up for power outages. No action required, it kicks in automatically the second when hydro is interrupted.
Our lot is fairly levelled, there is stone steps and stairs with handrails leading down to the dock and waterfront. Around the property are stepping stones and boardwalks.
Our pedal-boat awaits you for your enjoyment. We also provide a double, two single kayaks and a SUP. Feel free to bring your own water toys. The lake allows motorized watercraft and the boat launch is off the cottage road on you way in. You can moore your boat at our large dock.
Our basketball court is right by the cottage, the tree house with climbing wall is along the boardwalk to the wood-burning sauna and rock point, the best spot to enjoy the beautiful sunsets. The pool and football tables in the game room, the dart board and dome hockey are perfect rainy day activities. Have fun with our various board and card games.
During your stay you will get exclusive access to the cottage. Only one hall closet, part of the the utility room, some basement storage areas and the bigger one of the two garages will be locked. We have a local reliable cottage service on call who can be on site in under 30 minutes in case of an emergency and will take care of technical issues if they'd occur. We are available by phone, text or email ss well.
During your stay you will get exclusive access to the cottage. Only one hall closet, part of the the utility room, some basement storage areas and the bigger one of the two garages will be locked. My cottage is pet friendly for up to two well trained, housebroken, non-destructive, friendly pets. Please let me know if you plan to bring your pet and some details about her.
Before each check-in, the space is thoroughly inventoried and videotaped. If you find any deficiencies, please notify us as soon as you arrive. This will help you and us to avoid misunderstandings.

Any activity you engage in is solely at your own risk, and you agree not to hold another party including myself responsible or liable for any harm, injury, or damage that may occur under any circumstances.
The house rules in brief:
- The septic system's requirements must be respected
- No glassware outdoors
- No food or drinks in the game room
- Noise restriction after 11 pm
- Guests or/and pets undisclosed in the reservation will result in immediate termination of the stay without refund
- Parties or any kind of events are not permitted
- No refunds because of weather related events or 'Acts of God"
