Desert Rose is a secluded waterfront house on the 5-acre Monticello Estate. It is perched directly over one of the most beautiful beaches on the Island, famous for the unbelievable pink sand and turquoise water.
Enjoy fantastic views looking at the Atlantic Ocean. The big beach Tiki Hut and the deck are a unique opportunity to enjoy paradise from really close. Cool breezes, crystal waters, the Palmetto trees, and miles-long beaches are what you will experience staying at Monticello - Desert Rose.
Desert Rose is a two-bedroom, one-bath cottage. The master bedroom has a king bed, and an additional room has a twin bunk bed. All rooms have separate ceiling fans and air conditioners. The living room has a big sofa and a Satellite TV, home audio system, DVD Player, and stereo. The house has a separate laundry room with a washing machine and dryer.
The house is ideal for 2-4 guests, but we can accommodate larger groups as well. Please see Monticello - Garden of Light - sleeps six guests(VRBO/298738).
We also rent Monticello - Blue Bahia Villa in Ten Bay, Eleuthera - sleeps seven guests (VRBO/7476610)

Can’t express how much me and my wife enjoyed staying at the Rose House in beautiful Eleuthera. We came for the second time to the Bahamas, but first time to the Eleuthera Island. The owners were very accommodating and helpful as well as the manager of the property. From directions, to exploring the island and guiding us to the right people…our trip was perfect. Thank you so much for everything! The property was very beautiful and very relaxing, just what we needed! We look forward in visiting the island again and would definitely stay at the Monticello/ Rose Estate!

Staying at the desert rose house was a terrific experience. The house was charming with all the amenities you would expect. We loved the privacy and having an amazing beach all to ourselves. The house was easy to find, and for first timers on Eleuthera, it was surprisingly easy to find our way around. Communication with Barbara was excellent. She provided us with everything we needed to know well in advance and made things as easy as possible. We are looking forward to a return trip!

A week of peace and tranquility with the beach in sight from the moment you wake up. Wide pink sand beach with complete privacy we saw a handful of people the entire week we were there on the beach. The area is great with wonderful restaurants and shops to check out and has the perfect blend of locals places to explore and truly a place where you can relax on like no other. The owner is fantastic always available always helpful and thinking ahead to make sure your stay is seamless and the house has everything you could want and then some including those extra items and touches that make your stay that much more pleasant. We will be back very soon as I don’t think I could ever get enough of this place.

When I booked the Desert Rose and read all the reviews, I was very excited and confident, that we would enjoy staying there, but it has still exceeded all my expectations.
This was my first trip to Eleuthera and somehow my instincts ( or guardian angels :-) pointed me to the most beautiful part of the island.
The house is very stylish and very well equipped, it’s got everything you can possibly need for a comfortable stay on the island.
My favourite part is waking up in the morning and going straight from bed to the beach, watching the sunrise, having my first morning swim in the crystal clear, super warm water. I equally enjoyed walks on the beach during the day, watching the sunset...
My passion for the ocean aside, we have explored the island and visited the neighbouring islands also, the Desert Rose is very conveniently positioned on Eleuthera, so whether you decide to explore the north, the south of the island or just drive to Governors Harbour to get groceries or a cup of coffee, everything is very easily accessible.
Two great restaurants are just walking distance on the beach, which is very special. You can still drive, but imagine walking home on the most beautiful beach after having had a delicious meal and a refreshing drink, it’s quite unique.
The owners or the house are absolutely lovely, very kind and accommodating people. We were lucky enough to meet them in person, which was a cherry on the cake that made me feel even more at home.
Our care taker was also brilliant, he went out of his way to help us get our bearings on the island and assist us in every possible way he could. It is so important to have somebody to call and rely on, especially when it’s your first time on the island.
I am well aware that this is “just another” raving review on this property, but I really wanted to share my special experience and express gratitude to the owners, as well as the caretaker for making our trip super smooth and truly memorable.
I am now back in reality and at work, but my heart is still at the Desert Rose and on Eleuthera.... I will certainly be back soon :-)
