This pool is huge and perfect for laps and their are aerobics classes during the week. Also wonderful kiddie pool for mothers and kids to get out of the house for outdoor recreation and sun!
Isaac Hale Beach Park is very pretty and the black sand beach is nice to watch the waves. The beach is not safe for swimming due to the rough waves and the large rocks on the beach. There are two pools of water behind the beach. I would not recommend swimming. There is currently no running water at this park due to the lava. There is a better beach up the road. Kehena Black Sand Beach is better for swimming. You have to hike down and the surf is rough also. Most people have their clothing on.
The road is easy to drive. It's about 25-35mph most of the way. We drove down to Isaac Hale park, turned around and drove back the same way. Not many stops but you don't need to stop to enjoy it. You can see the ocean cliffs directly from road, as well as the interesting lava covered areas from 2018 & the lava that flowed into part of Isaac Hale park (and permanently closed the road beyond) is really interesting.
